RV Adventuring in Zion National Park
11 National Parks in 18 days! That is what Jeff Smith, Heather Mendoza, and their four kids did after buying their first RV. On their stay in Zion, I was lucky enough to capture their time together as a family as they did the famous and very popular hike The Narrows. Read on to here about their adventures and a few great RVing tips while staying in Zion National Park.
"We had always dreamed of seeing the amazing National Parks of Utah and Arizona with all our kids. When buying an RV became a reality for us, so did seeing all these parks. We could not imagine any other way to really see and explore the parks. Having the RV let us stay in Zion, right on the Virgin River. We were walking distance to the visitors center so we could easily catch the 1st shuttle of the day, which made hikes like The Narrows even better! Staying in the park also gave us access to evening hikes. We loved staying on the Virgin River, the kids played in it every day! We also loved the bike paths that were in the park.
To anyone traveling to the park, I cannot stress enough how great and convenient it was to stay in the park. It was gorgeous to eat our meals while looking at the breath taking views in Zion. I MUST say though, you need to book the RV sites a full 6 months in advance if you want to go during the summer.
I found out about Arika and her company on a family RV blog, Crazy Family Adventures, and it looked interesting. We hiked the Zion Narrows with her on our recent trip. She made our 4 kids so comfortable and made a great hike even more memorable! She was a pleasure to work with and truly was one of the most amazing professionals I have ever worked with! The pictures she took were AMAZING!!!!! She captured the magic of the Narrows and the joy and fun our family had!!" - Jeff
